1 Kings 18:21, AMPC
Elijah came near to all the people and said, How long will you halt and limp between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow Him! But if Baal, then follow him. And the people did not answer him a word.
We live in the times when the Bible says, “gross darkness shall cover the earth” [Isaiah 60:2]. Yet, it is in these same times that we who are light, have the opportunity to shine our light the brightest. A born again Christian is light, a city set on a hill that cannot be hid. Yet, many are hiding their light so they can blend in or be conformed to the ways and norms of this world, in order to become accepted. The interesting thing is that you were not re-created to blend in; you are peculiar people, called forth to show the excellent virtues of our Lord.
Being lukewarm in this dispensation is detrimental on every front and would only lead to being spewed out by our Lord Jesus Christ. How long would you waver between being in the world and being in church? How would would you continue to have one foot in and the other foot out? If you say God is God, why don’t you recklessly abandon yourself to Him and serve Him with your might, soul and body? Even those who are serving the devil are doing so wholeheartedly.
Yes, it would cost you a lot to do so, but from an eternity perspective, “what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul”. Look carefully, it didn’t say “spirit” but “soul” [your conscience, emotions and will]. Yes, you may get to heaven but when your works are passed through the fire, it will burn and you will suffer great loss. Is this what you want at the end of your life or to hear the Master say “well done ye good and faithful servant”?
If God is God, serve Him. Don’t choose parts of the Bible you agree with to do and others not to do. Remember God is a Spirit and we serve Him from our Spirits and not our minds. Those that worship Him must worship, Him in SPIRIT & in TRUTH! Choose to serve the Lord with a pure a heart and a willing heart and serve Him in Spirit & In truth. That is what He desires of you.
