He sent forth His word…

“[He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions” [Psalm 107:20, KJV].

It is never God’s desire that any of His children should find themselves in trouble, sickness or self-inflicted challenges. However, there are times when we take decisions or indulge in things that bring challenges our way. Often in despair and after trying several ways to solve these issues, we cry out to God for help. This is just as the psalmist points out that, “some of you were sick because you’d lived a bad life, your bodies feeling the effects of your sin; You couldn’t stand the sight of food, so miserable you thought you’d be better off dead. Then you called out to God in your desperate condition; he got you out in the nick of time. But how does God save us?” Psalm 107:17-19  [MSG]. This echoes the sentiments of the psalmist when he said, I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help? My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth” {Psalms 121:1-2, KJV].  For us as Christians, how does the Lord save and give us help? The answer is simple, “He sends forth His word and heals them and rescues them from the pit and destruction” Psalm 107:20, AMP].

Many wonder why a lot of emphases is placed on having our quiet time, and effectively studying the word of God. This is because no matter what the situation is, it is the WORD of God that brings healing; spiritual, emotional, financial, social, relational etc. In that place of meditating on the Word, the logos of God’s Word becomes Rhema; the Word which began as letters which kill, now became the words the Lord Jesus speak which gives life. That is why no solution that this world has to offer can bring permanence to the healing that you desire, other than the Word of God.

Remember that the Word of God is “is alive and full of power [making it active, operative, energizing, and effective]; it is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating to the dividing line of the breath of life (soul) and [the immortal] spirit, and of joints and marrow [of the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and sifting and analyzing and judging the very thoughts and purposes of the heart” [Hebrews 4:12, AMP]. Meaning that the Word of God is able to go deep beyond the layers and barriers that we put up, into the core of a person. Deep down where the camera lights cannot reach, the criticizing eyes of onlookers cannot read into and where everything is naked to the one who formed and fashioned us. Yes, that is the potency of God’s Word. That is why Apostle Paul admonishes us that, “let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect” [Romans 12:2, NLT]. This transformation happens as we dig deep into God’s Word.

Are you battling storms and trials? Have you dug yourself into a hole so deep that you cannot get out? Let the WORD of God bring you out. It contains the solution to every problem you can ever imagine facing. Just as there is the surety of the sun rising, there is the surety of the revealed Word of God doing that which it was sent forth to do. When that Word comes, know that the Lord says, “So shall My word be that goes forth out of My mouth: it shall not return to Me void [without producing any effect, useless], but it shall accomplish that which I please and purpose, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it” [Isaiah 55:11, AMPC].

The Word has come forth, so healing has come forth. Receive yours today!
